Nhien Thanh Tran, 93, of Lynn Haven, Florida, passed away peacefully in the evening of Friday, February 27, 2026. He was born on October 7, 1932 in Bac Lieu, Vietnam and married the love of his life, Tuyet Ha Thi Bui on March 23, 1955. Nhien is preceded in death by his wife.

In his early years, Nhien was a Colonel of the Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces. He was Province Chief of Kien Hoa as well as Province Chief of Kien Phong. He moved to North Carolina in 1975 with his wife and children. With unwavering strength and character and an absolute love and faith in Jesus Christ, Nhien eagerly faced the challenge of life in a new country. He worked up to management in Mack’s Department Store. Eventually, he moved to California where he worked for General Electric Company and in Social Services for the State of California.

Nhien’s pride and joy were his family and many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first granddaughter Jaime Thien-Tram Tran. He is survived by his children Thuyen Tran and husband Michael Boman; Quang Tran and his wife, Donna Tran; Phuong Nguyen and husband Binh Nguyen; Phi Hua and husband Quyen Hua; Liem Tran and wife Karen Love. Grandchildren include James Tran, Benjamin Tran, Nicholas Tran, Emily Tran, Justin Nguyen, Jason Nguyen, Amanda Tsoufakis, Jessica Hua, Jonathan Tran, Jennifer Baumes, Justin Ard, Kristen Ard. He has 9 great grandchildren.

There will be a celebration of life held on March 14, 2026 at 11:00 am at Saint’s Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 1003 N. East Avenue, Panama City, Florida 32401
