Nancy Jo Moore Bender, 73, died peacefully at home in her sleep on April 29, 2026.

She was born on July 16, 1952. She was preceded in death by her parents Lister Moore and Sheila Bell Moore and daughter Shana Faulkner. She is survived by husband George Bender of 51 years (March 22, 1975) daughter Tammy Berger and husband Justin, grandson Benjamin Berger and god granddaughter Molly Newman.

She was born and reared in Montgomery, AL. where she and George lived until 2002 when they moved to Panama City Beach. She graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in 1970 and attended the University of Alabama and graduated from Troy University.

She was a strong Christian, devoted wife, loving mother, and fabulous Nana. She was a great friend and encourager. She would go above and beyond to help someone. She was also an avid Alabama fan. She was an amazing teacher and even won teacher of the year.

A private family service will be held and interment will be in the Lynn Haven Cemetery. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to
