NADINE MARTIN SOWELL
Nadine Martin Sowell, of Panama City, died Wednesday, January, 10, 2007 at a local hospital. She was born on January 22, 1925, in Muleshoe, Texas and had been a resident of Panama City since 1946. She was one of the founders and executive vice president of Sowell Aviation. She was also a licensed beautician and pilot. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Hi-Lo Bridge Club, the Panama City Woman's Club, the St. Andrew Bay Yacht Club and the Duplicate Bridge Club. She was also a volunteer for Covenant Hospice. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Leighann Sowell Frick. She is survived by her son, J. Don Sowell, three daughters, Dianne Sowell Preston, Deborah K. Sowell and Denise Sowell Montford and her husband, James, seven grandchildren, Amy Sowell McConnell and her husband, Shannon, Kim Preston Jones, Ashley Denise Preston, Jadonn Nadine Sowell, Barron Sowell Preston, Marcey McKinney Green and Curtis Troy McKinney, nine great grandchildren, Matthew Ryan Jones, Shandy McConnell, Quinnlin McConnell, Doron McConnell, Barbara Marcella Whitney Green, Bailey Frances Green, Jaime Dianne Green, James Clifton Green, Jr., Sadie Leighann Green and brother, Clurin Martin and his wife, Mary. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Panama City with Dr. Richard Watson and Pastor Markus Bishop officiating. Private graveside services will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday at the church from 2 – 3 p.m. prior to the service.
