MYRTLE (MIMI) FOURAKER

Myrtle "Mimi" Fouraker, 88, of Lynn Haven, died Sunday, October 22, 2006. She was born January 7, 1918 in Headland, Alabama and had been a resident here since 1931. She was a 1938 graduate of Bay High School. She was a medical assistant and office manager for Dr. J.J. Hollomon, having retired after 32 years of service. She was a charter member of the Bay County Medical Assistant Association, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City and the LLL Sunday School class. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed reading, gardening, crocheting and playing the organ. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Carden. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Alvin B. Fouraker of Lynn Haven; a daughter, April "Pril" Bland of Panama City; 3 granddaughters, Leigh Crouch of Newnan, GA, April Mercer and husband, Mike; Sarah Steverson and husband, Jason, all of Lynn Haven; grandson, Blair Fackler and wife, Suzanne of Camilla, GA; 2 sisters, Effie Daffin, Madie Lindsey, both of Panama City; 8 great grandchildren, Brooke, Chase, & Griffin Mercer, Julia & Ben Crouch, Jimmy Fackler, and Abby & Mallory Steverson. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Ellison officiating. Private family graveside services will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. Those desiring may make a contribution to Hospice of the Emerald Coast, 2925 Martin Luther King Blvd, Panama City, FL 32405 in memory of Mimi Fouraker. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Wegner, Ralph Herin, Edwin Kraft, Ray Williams, Mack Bland, Mark Fouraker, John Hollomon, Mike Hamm, John Daffin, James Daffin, Vic Hamm, Bo Hamm, Jerry Hamm, Doug Lindsey, Joe Carl Lindsey, the LLL Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church, Buford Ennis, Stan Worsham, Horace Carr, Billy Eubanks and Mercer Spear.
