Obituary

Milton Cornelious Buckley, Jr.   10/25/1951-03/08/2025

Milton was born to Milton C. Buckley, Sr. and Epps Delta Moran on October 25, 1951, at Adams Hospital in Panama City, Florida. He grew up on Panama City Beach and lived at Edgewater Gulf Beach Apartments with his parents and older sister June and younger sister Jan.  He attended Hutchison Beach Elementary School, Jinks Jr. High School and graduated with the Class of '69 from Bay High School. He worked on Panama City Beach with Vernon Wade at Wade's Grocery during his early teen years until graduation. His enjoyment for hunting and fishing developed during those early teen years and afforded him many camping trips to the River at Wewa with his dad and numerous other friends, as well as many trips to Holmes County with Mr. Wade to run dogs and hunt a variety of wildlife. His later years have led to calling turkey and hunting deer with lifelong friends.

After passing his master plumber exam in 1976, he opened Buckley's Complete Plumbing, Inc in January 1977 and after six years of dating; he took a big leap and married Dianne Moseley in April. Together they worked for 44 years serving and helping to meet the plumbing needs of friends and community.  The relationships Milton formed over the years with his customers turned into friendships that have lasted his lifetime, and he truly cared for each of you.

Milton is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dianne Moseley. This union brought two beautiful daughters into their lives, Breanne C. Buckley Wood (Blake) and Mackenzie Wade Buckley Powell (John).  Also, the addition of grandchildren Blakely Grace Wood, John Wilder (Wylie) Powell, Shepherd James Powell, and Rowan Mackenzie Powell. What joy, laughter and tremendous pleasure these children brought into their Papa's life. He was so proud of each of you and looked forward to each of your accomplishments in this life.

Milton's extended family include his two sisters, June Buckley of Tallahassee, Florida and Jan Buckley Levenson (Louis) of Atlanta, Georgia and one niece, Lauren Marston Howard (Nick), and great niece, MaKynley Howard, of Tallahassee, Florida.

To the team of doctors at U.F. Health Shands in Gainesville and Jacksonville, U.F. Health Florida Proton Therapy Institute in Jacksonville, who attended Milton's care, we are most thankful. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Milton's memory to one of the outstanding medical teams that served him.

The girls and I are thankful for the care that has been given to Milton over the past month by Vitas Healthcare and BrightStar Care, and Dr. Vickie Harrell for the years of continued care. We could not have managed without your help. To the friends and family who have reached out in these last few months, we offer many thanks and prayers for you.  Your concern, calls, meals and mainly your sacrifice of prayers offered to the God of hope, our Lord Jesus Christ on our family's behalf have sustained us during this trial of our faith.

Milton trusted and believed in the finished work of Jesus at Calvary. On March 8, 2025, he entered into his eternal rest with the Lord Jesus Christ. Services will be held at his home church, First Baptist Church, Fellowship Hall (former sanctuary, located at the corner of 6th street and Harrison ave) on Friday, March 14th at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will follow the service, and the family will be having a private burial service following visitation.
