Michele Lister Waltz, 52, died peacefully at her home in Port St. Joe on February 12, following a courageous two and one-half year battle with brain cancer. Michele was born in Panama City on September 11, 1967, to Roy Maxwell Lister and Carolyn Britt Witten. She was a proud 1985 graduate of P.K. Yonge Laboratory School in Gainesville, FL and studied nursing and medical billing at Haney Vocational- Technical School in Panama City. Michele worked many years as a CNA in Gainesville, Port St. Joe and Panama City. Michele was preceded in death by her grandparents: RD and Maxie Ellis Lister and Frank and Kathleen Allred Britt; and her beloved cat, Velvet. She is survived by her parents, Roy Lister (Brenda) of Lynn Haven and Carolyn Witten (Fred) of Port St. Joe. Michele is also survived by two sisters, Meredith Higgins (Burley) of Orono, ME and Caroline Greene (Byron) of Seattle, WA, step brothers, Woody Pumphrey and Jason Witten (Beth), and step sister, Casey Sanchez (Chris). Additional survivors include Michele's beloved nephews and nieces, Daniel and Adam Knight, Graham and Kate Higgins, Elizabeth Greene, Caitlin Witten, Brenden and Kayla Witten, Lily, Sophia and Xavier Sanchez. A celebration of Michele's life will be held at 2 pm EST on Monday, February 17, 2020, at First United Methodist Church of Port St. Joe. The family will receive visitors from 1-2 pm EST prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, Michele requested memorial donations to be made to the Building Fund of First United Methodist Church, P.O.
