Melody May Keene, 67, of Panama City, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015. She was born in Mobile, Alabama. She was educated through the Bay County school system and graduated from Bay High School. Melody was one of the first Panama City Beach models. Her photos can be found on postcards, and numerous brochures and books promoting tourism for Panama City. She was also an incredible portrait artist who won many awards and received recognition for her artwork. Melody was beloved by so many. She never met a stranger. Everywhere she went she would leave a lasting impression and a trail of new friends. Her bright and cheerful nature, her compassion and love for others and her carefree spirit brightened every room she entered. She was a loving and beautiful mother, wonderful grandmother, caring family member and dear friend. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
Melody is survived by her five children, Tracy Renee Brown, Thaddeus Kavanaugh Brown, Kevin Ryan Keene, Keri Lynn Keene and Katy Esther Keene; four grandchildren, Samantha Brown, Garrett Keene, Corbin Keene, Levi Keene; two brothers, Jimmy May and JD May; five sisters, Vicky Brown, Jackie Ullman, Marsha Maggiore, Becky Cox, Amy Weibers; and numerous nieces and nephews. Melody's Celebration of Life will be held at 3pm on Saturday, February 7th in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel at 214 Airport Road, Panama City, FL 32405 with Gene Simonds officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 2 – 3 p.m. Those desiring may make memorial donations to Covenant Hospice 615 N Bonita Ave., 3rd Floor South, Panama City, FL 32401 in memory of Melody May Keene.
