Melissa Kay Scheuermann, of Panama City, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026. She was 56 years old.

Born Melissa Kay Richter on July 21, 1969, in Blountstown, Florida, she was lovingly known as “Missy” by her family and friends. She lived a simple, homey life and had a gift for touching the hearts of those around her with her fun stories and her fondness for all things old.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy Ray Richter and Christine Smith Richter; her stepmother, Martha Timmons; and her husband, Paul Scheuermann.

Melissa is survived by her longtime partner, Don Crisp; her son, Seth Scheuermann (Amber); her cherished granddaughter, Legacy Scheuermann; her sister, Jennifer Hall (Derik); her brother, Justin Richter; her stepmother, Mary-Lou Richter; her beloved cat, Cry Baby; and many dear friends who will miss her deeply.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
