Melba K Upton went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 9, 2021. She was born on March 9, 1929 in Hartford, AL to her parents, Warren Shelton Tindell and Thelma White Tindell. She married her loving husband, Grady Bruce Upton, on October 17, 1947. Melba spent her life caring for her husband and daughters. She was the perfect example of a godly woman who spent many years serving others and teaching children to know and love God. She was a charter member of Northside Baptist Church and played a vital role in growing Cook Memorial Baptist Church.
She was proceeded in death by her parents and husband. She is also proceeded in death by her sister, Melli Raye Tindell and brother, Clarence Eugene Tindell.
She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Dean and Terri Nelson (Terry). Grandchildren, Jarrod Dean, Jaclyn Welsh (Sean), Justin Dean (Tiffany), Brent Nelson (Tiffany) and Brooke Stanford (Taylor). She was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren that she adored, Kayla Dean, Trent Nelson, Brayden Nelson, Easton Stanford, Connor Dean, Kelsi Welsh, Emma Kate Stanford, Kathryn Welsh and Maisy Dean.
A private graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2021.
