Mattie O'Neal Shipp, 82, of Panama City Beach, Florida formerly of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on January 31, 2010. She was born October 19, 1927 in Dallas County, Alabama.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a wonderful cook and it was a great joy for her to welcome her family and friends into her home for her wonderful meals. She was a kind person that loved with all her heart.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Hazel and John Howard Rush; sister, Mary Wachenheim; brother, Pettus Rush; 3 grandchildren, Tonya, James and Joseph Smith; and step-son, Jacob Shipp Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Jacob Shipp; daughters, Sandra Martin and husband, Bobby of Smyrna, Georgia, Deborah Martin of Panama City, Florida, Linda Richard and husband Richard of Smyrna, Georgia, Brenda Lamb and husband Eddie of Austell, Georgia; son-in-law, Wayne Martin of Panama City, Florida; step-daughter, Betty Shipp of Shelbyville, Kentucky; special "adopted" son, Dale Haibach of Panama City Beach, Florida; special "adopted" daughter, Charlotte Smith of Austell, Georgia; 9 grandchildren, Sherry, Debbie, April, Shavon, Maria, Melanie, Richard, Kim and Willie; 16 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Visitation with family and friends will be on Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home. The family would like to thank Emerald Coast Hospice for their love and care.
