Obituary

MASTON FRANK "BUDDY" KELLY

It is not everybody that gets to write their own obit. Since I know that I am going to die I will take that chore on myself and save that hardship from my beloved wife Lise who is the absolute most wonderful wife anyone ever had. Lise, I love you so very much—thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so wonderful, kind, and loving!

I want to make this light. I have had a very good life and have lived past my 3 score and 10. So, don't mourn, instead celebrate! I did my best to live my life honestly and fairly. I did not always succeed, but I tried! I may be able to improve if I had a second chance, but then again maybe not. We won't find out will we? My only regret is leaving my Lise.

I was born 18 September 1935 in Amelia, TX and grew up in Thicket/Saratoga, TX, where I made many life long friends. My parents Maston Vincent & Mary Norah were the best I could have asked for. I was blessed with three sisters, Margaret, Patricia (deceased), and Dorothy. Each of them had children. Margaret's two oldest were only 10-11 years younger than I and were more like sister and brother, as was Dorothy's son (deceased). There were many cousins.

I have two children, Cheri Barker (Breck) & Patrick Kelly. I also have 5 grand children in whom I am delighted – Travis and Tyler Barker (Rachael), and Tyler, Dara, and Lindsey Kelly and 1 great granddaughter.

There are so many wonderful friends that I can not list all of you, but wish to thank my special friends Griffin and Susan Mitchell for their support. I thank you all for your warmth and the joy you have given me. Let me leave you with a few lines of one of my favorite songs of my youth:

"May you walk with sun light shining, and a Blue Bird in every tree
May there be a silver lining in back of every cloud you see
Fill your dreams with sweet tomorrows, never mind what might have been
And may the Good Lord bless and keep you 'till we meet again!"

Visitation will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Monday May 5 from 6 – 8 pm
with graveside services at Felps Cemetery on May 7 at 1 pm in Thicket, TX.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice.
