Marynel Culbreth Adams, aged 78, a native of Bay County, Florida, and a resident of Mobile, Alabama, died on July 30, 2017 at her residence. She is preceded in death by her parents, Opal and Isaiah Culbreth; and her sisters, Joan Parker and Helen Schrenker. She is survived by her daughter, Terri Shelton; her son-in-law, Brad Shelton; her two grandchildren, Lyndsey and Michael Shelton; her sisters, Bayne (Jim) Coonce and Sara Cooper; her brother-in-law,  Jesse Parker;  her nieces, Peaches Wilson, Rachael Black; her nephews, Matt Cooper, Barry Coonce, and David, Donald, and Tim Schrenker; and other numerous nieces and nephews. Marynel graduated from Bay High in 1956; she received her Bachelor's degree from Florida State University in 1959. She started her teaching career at Tyndall Elementary upon graduation.  She obtained a Master's degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1987. She lived in and raised her daughter in Hattiesburg, Ms.  Marynel moved back to Panama City in 1989 and was a media specialist for Bay District Schools until her retirement in 2004.  During her time in Panama City, she was an active member of First Baptist Church and the Panama City Womans Club. She left her beloved Panama City in 2013 and moved to Mobile, Al to be close to her grandchildren whom she adored. The family will receive visitors from 10 to 11 a.m. with a Memorial Service to follow on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the fellowship hall at First Baptist Church of Panama City.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Florida Baptist Children's Home or the Child Advocacy Center. She was a loving mother, and doting grandmother. She had a fighting spirit and will be greatly missed.
