IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Josephine
Weaver
February 28, 1933 – May 15, 2019
Mary Josephine Cooper Weaver, 86, of Lynn Haven, FL, passed away May 15, 2018.
Mary was born on February 28, 1933 in Enigma, Georgia to Vida Lou Kight Cooper and Milton Eustice Cooper. She married James (Bo) Willett Weaver on April 1, 1956 and as a military wife she traveled the world making a home for her family wherever she was. Mary and Bo moved to Panama City in 1969, and she worked as a classroom teacher and as the County Art Resource Teacher until she retired. She was active in the Bay County Retired Teachers Association, in the St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club Ladies Auxiliary, and in various other community associations.
Her kitchen was always full of food for those she loved, including her famous Sour Cream Pound Cake and fried chicken. She loved children, her family, and art. She saw beauty in her surroundings and in the people around her, and the most common comment about her was "She's so sweet!" She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
Mary is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Lani Weaver and Steve Skidmore, and Ann and Don Johnston; her three grandchildren Laura (Dustin) Eischens, Jim (Andrewnette Reed) Weaver, and Steve Johnston; her four great-grandchildren Alex Nguyen, Piper Eischens, Clara Eischens, and Juniper Reed-Weaver; her sister Beth Ray and brother Milton (Ann) Cooper; and nieces and nephews.
A celebration honoring Mary's life will be held on Saturday, May 18, from 3 - 5 at Wilson Funeral Home in Panama City.
