Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Skinner spent her last moment on earth and first moment in heaven on July 31. Born in Andalusia, Alabama on October 26, 1923, Mary Elizabeth was a graduate of Bay County High School and Morrow Business College, she had a small business in Panama City, Jim's Pipe and Gift Shop, for a number of years. She was a member of Northside Baptist and loved her Homemakers Sunday School class. She and her husband, of 61 years, James Preston, loved and served the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Viola Jay, her husband, James Preston, a sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Harry Meints, brothers, Dr. Ernest Jay, and John Jay, and his wife, Betty Joyce, and a beloved son of whom she was very proud, Dr. David Preston Skinner.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Betty (Peaches) Skinner, granddaughter, Dr. Dana Elizabeth Aarons and her husband, Richard, grandson, Dr. Timothy David Skinner and wife, Marta; cousin Laura Jean Johnson; great grandchildren include, Logan James and Ethan Charles Aarons; Abigail Grace and Luke David Skinner; nieces and nephews, Mike Meints (wife, Mary), Dr. Richard Jay (wife, Linda), Philip Jay, Craig Jay (wife, Terri), Cinda Jay, Brenda Paris (husband, Les), Dr. Milinda Stephenson (husband, Hal), Jeff Jay (wife, Shayne), friends sister-in-law Shirley, and Dee Jay.

Visitation will be at Wilson Funeral Home on Sunday from 3-4 p.m. with a graveside service following at Greenwood Cemetery at 4:30 p.m. Pallbearers: Craig Jay, Philip Jay, Jeff Jay, Mike Meints, Les Paris, Richard Aarons, Dr. Timothy Skinner and Hal Stephenson. Honorary Pallbearers: members of the Homemakers Sunday School Class.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to City Church at Northside, 530 Airport Rd, PC, FL 32405, or to Florida State University for the David Skinner Endowed Memorial Scholarship, 4750 Collegiate Dr., PC, FL 32405.
