MARY GLADYS SIMONSON

Mary Gladys Simonson, Mom, slipped peacefully from this Earth on August 11, 2011 and joined her beloved husband John, of 63 years and their daughter, Mary in Heaven. One could not ask for a better Mom.

Many times while her husband was away on military duty, she had to raise their children herself. During these times, she took to heart her membership and support of the military wives clubs wherever the family was stationed.

Throughout her life, she taught their children the true values of good morals, hard work, and always doing their best yet making sure, they stopped to appreciate what beauty naturally surrounded them.

She never hesitated to serve as room mother in their elementary schools, Cub Scout den mother, and especially their chief counselor of life.

While most of her life was dedicated to her family, for many years she held Tupperware parties and sold Avon products to meet people in the area and contribute to the family's income. She loved growing flowers, sharing her knowledge about them, but most of all sharing them with others so that they could share them with their families and others.

A true example of pay it forward of the beauty in the world.
Mom was met with open arms and great anticipation by Dad, Major John C. Simonson, and their daughter, our sister, Mary Ann (Price) Simonson.
Always concerned for her families and friends well-being she fought long and hard to stick around. We will be fine Mom.

Her sons, Jack W. Simonson, Robert T. Simonson (Joy), Richard J. Simonson, and Michael P. Simonson (Denise), 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, survive her.

The family deeply wishes to thank all of the angels at St. Andrews Rehabilitation Center and Emerald Coast Hospice for all their assistance in this difficult time.
Respecting her wishes memorialization will be by cremation with no services.
