Mary Louise Pitts Carlson, 93, of Panama City, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2019. She was born December 2, 1925 in Panama City, Florida. Her family moved to Savannah, Georgia during World War II, where she graduated Savannah High School and Armstrong Junior College. She moved back to Lynn Haven after college and met and married the love of her life, Rudy Carlson. She was a retired bookkeeper for Saltmarsh Cleaveland and Gund Accounting. For most of her life, she did income tax returns for friends and relatives. She was very active in her children's school and church, serving as PTA President, teaching Sunday School, served as President of WMU and sang in the church choir. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Woodman of the World. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Rudolf Carlson; her parents, Ralph & Mollie Pitts; daughter, Carol Ann Cartier, granddaughter, Carrie Cartier; three brothers, Ralph Pitts Jr., Fred Pitts, James Pitts and a sister, Betty Pitts Kearney. She is survived by two daughters, Rosemary Grill (Larry), Linda Newton (Gerald); five grandchildren, Cheryl Hays, Rob Wilson (Lauren), Chad Wooten (Heather), Carmen Preston (Ben), Jeremi Cartier (Ashley), eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Michael Bryan officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5-7 p.m.
