Mary Genevieve "Mary Jim" Kish entered eternal peace with her loving family near her on August 29, 2014. She was born on April 1, 1924 to Willis Clare Collett and Genevieve Lantz Collett in Elkins, WV.
She met her future husband, Louis A. Kish, at Davis and Elkins College. They were married for 60 years, until his death in 2004.
She and her husband raised their family in Panama City. Louis was a mechanical engineer at the Navy Coastal Systems Center. Mary Jim was a stay-at-home Mom who taught her daughters the value of family and kindness to others.
Mary Jim was a beautiful woman and a free spirit who loved life to its fullest. She enjoyed her many friends whom she cherished. She liked reading poetry and loved her sweet dog, Scout, and her cats Lola and Flower.
She is survived by her daughters, Andrea Hall (husband Richard) and Jennifer Lynne Kish; her brothers Willis Collett (wife Andrea), Berlin Collett (wife Shirley) and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
The family extends their appreciation to Bay Med Sacred Heart CVICU, Covenant Hospice, and her friend and physician, Dr. Sidney A. Daffin, III. We are thankful for her caregivers Nell Gasaway and Brenda Folk. They were friends and angels.
We honor our Mother's love of poetry:
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John,
Bless the bed that I lie on.
Four corners to my bed,
Four angels round my head,
One to watch and one to pray
And two to bear my soul away.
