It is with great sadness that we must say goodbye to Mary Josephine Waddell, "Mary Jo." She was lifted up into heaven unexpectedly on Saturday, December 8, 2018. She was a young 71. We rejoice that she has been reunited (in heaven) with her husband of 44 years- Charles Foy Waddell Jr. (Bubba). Mary Jo will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Charles (Billie) and Bryan. A piece of her will always live on within her grandchildren, Christian, Taylor and Aiden. Mary Jo is the daughter of Earnest and Jeanette Baker of New Boston, Michigan and is survived by her brother, Sonny (Darlene); brothers-in-law, Albert and Jimmy (Kay); sister-in-law, Janis (Jerry); and niece, Julie. Mary Jo was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Rhonda.
Mary Jo graduated from Tulane University with her degree in nursing. She married and raised her family in Panama City. She retired from Bay Medical after 34 years. She attended First Baptist Church of Panama City for over 48 years. She was a true animal lover and master gardener.
A funeral service in memory of Mary Jo will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 2 pm at Wilson Funeral Home. 214 Airport Road, Panama City, FL 32405. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 pm prior to the service.
