Mary Tucker Dyer

January 13, 1920 - January 2, 2014

Mary Tucker Dyer, 93, of Panama City, Florida passed away on Thursday January 2, 2014 at the Hospice House in Stuart, Florida. She was born on January 13, 1920 in Paxton, Florida. She loved to roller skate and did up until she was about 70 years old. She owned the old roller rink that was by the hang out at the beach in the late 40's and early 50's then the rink at the beach from 1964 to 1967 that became Noah's Ark. Water skiing was another favorite hobby. She also was an avid bowler dating back to the old Gulf Bowling Center that was located on 25 N. Oak Ave in which Frank Dyer Sr., her husband, owned from 1947 until 1957. She served as Panama City Bowling Association President in the late 50's and early 60's and was also a state delegate until about 1998. She was a charter member of the association and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1995. She was a homemaker for most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Frank D. Dyer, Sr. She is survived by her son Frank D. Dyer, Jr. and wife Donna Collins Dyer; grandson, Joseph Dyer, and great-granddaughter Kayla Dyer.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday January 8, 2014 at Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday January 7, 2014 at the funeral home.
