IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Sue
Crutchfield Suggs
November 23, 1936 – February 22, 2022
Mary Sue Crutchfield Suggs, 85, went to her heavenly home with loving family at her side, from her home in Panama City, FL, on Tuesday February 22,2022, a palindrome date, which is as unique as she was. Sue, Meme, and Ms. Mary were names she answered to, was born in Cottondale, FL on November 23, 1936 to R.J. and Hilda Crutchfield. She was the eldest and only sister to her two younger brothers. Sue attended Panama Grammar School as a young girl. In 1950 while riding the bus to Bay High School, a young man, by the name of Thomas Delano, asked if he could sit next to her, she politely obliged him to do so. It was a match made in Heaven. She graduated in 1954 from Bay High School. Sue and Delano were married at First Baptist Church in Lynn Haven on February 13, 1955, where they were active members there for many years. Before long they added two daughters to their family. "Precision is the key" she would say. Sue was a planner, organizer, proper scheduling kind of lady. Aways patient, polite , kind and caring to anything in God's universe. She was thoughtful with intelligent charm and humor. She enjoyed many things in life from cooking healthy for her family and grandchildren, teaching others many life lessons in nature on caring for any type of human, animal or plant. She loved to read, sing, write and laugh. She and Delano were business and life partners. After 67 years of marriage, Sue and Deno, as she called him, remained committed to one another, to love and honor, for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, till death do they part. She was Deno's "Sweet Sue". She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind her loving husband, Thomas Delano Suggs; two daughters, Cyndi McKinney and Sonia Amick, both of Panama City; two brothers, Wallace Crutchfield of Pensacola; Pastors Eddie and Martha Crutchfield Sr., of Alabama; five grandchildren, Justin Amick, Krissy Botzong, Elizabeth Amick, Mary D'Oust and Jessica McKinny, all of Panama City; five great grandchildren, Corinne and Nathan D'Oust, Allison and Adam Botzong, and Ainsley Amick all of Panama City. Nephews and nieces from throughout the United States whom she loved, cared and prayed for. She and Deno were members of First Assembly of God Panama City. The family expresses a heartfelt thank you to First Assembly of God Church of Panama City, Covenant and Emerald Coast Hospice, including all of their staff that served Sue during her last years. Especially appreciating the excellent care, comfort and compassion given to her by Madison her nurse, Dr. Gillispie, Chaplain Conrad and her granddaughter, Elizabeth. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 1:30 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phil Edwards, Rev. Eddie L. Crutchfield and Rev. Conrad Meadows officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1-1:30 pm prior to the service.
