Mary Lowrey Anderson, 103, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, July 28, this year of our Lord, 2024.

Mary was an active lifetime member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed teaching children's Sunday School classes. She was a member of the Cradle Roll department, and later was a member of the LLL Sunday School Class. Mary also was a member of the Garden Center (Hummingbird) and took great pride in her yard. During retirement years, she became an avid golfer and played with the ladies' golf team at the Lynn Haven Golf and Country Club. She enjoyed the sport well into her nineties. Mary was a renowned southern cook and no one left her house without pound cake.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rueben C. Lowrey and Annie Walker Lowrey, her husband of 69 years Virgil B. Anderson, her son, John D. Anderson; six sisters and five brothers. She is survived by her children, Sarah Anderson Mason, Carl Stephen Anderson (Jana), Jerry Collier Anderson (Debra), Tillie Anderson Fowler (Darwin), Betsy Anderson, daughter-in-law; fifteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 3 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service. Private family graveside services will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Alex Anderson, Ryan Oliver, Scout Oliver, Anderson Miles, Ryland Nunn, Justin Duncan, Chris Cockrill and Max Cockrill.

Our family gives a special thanks to the staff at Charter Senior Assisted Living and to Linda Kelly of Emerald Coast Hospice for the love and care they gave our mother.
