Her family moved to Panama City FL in 1938.  She spent her early life in downtown Panama City learning piano from her mother, she played beautifully and shared her love of music with others.

Her education included: Graduation from Bay County High School, 1954.   Bachelor of Arts, Stetson University, 1958.  Masters in Religious Education, SW Baptist Theological Seminary, 1960.  Masters in Special Education, University of Alabama, 1965.

She began her teaching career in Panama City teaching handicapped children.  Moving to Kansas she continued her career teaching many handicapped students.  Upon her retirement in 1995 the Missouri House of Representatives acknowledged her 32 years of outstanding service as a teacher of youngsters with special needs.

She served on many committees to support handicap education and professional organizations such as Alpha Delta Kappa and National Education Association.  She also volunteered at her churches as a Sunday School Teacher and many other committees.

Mary Leslie Addison married Kenneth Wayne Scoggins, on August 8, 1980, in Kansas City, Missouri.  Kenneth had two children, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren that he shared with Mary Leslie.

All Kenneth's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren considered Grandma Mary as a generous and loving grandma that was always ready with a hug, a smile and good food.

Keith and Wanda agree that their father could not have chosen a better person to be a member of the family.  Mary has been intricate part of our lives and will be sorely missed by all of us.

Mary Leslie was a strong person, caring, kind, full of life and love that left an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and friends.  Thank you, Mary Leslie for everything.  We will love you forever.
