Obituary

Martha Alice Ostervold Dolbeer, 79, of Panama City, FL, died on November 17, 2016, after suffering a stroke.

Born in New Orleans, she was the daughter of the late Captain Lars and Mrs. Florence Ostervold.

She was a 1955 graduate of Vicksburg High School in Vicksburg, MS. Martha attended the University of Cincinnati where she met her future husband Bill. They were married in July of 1957. Once Bill graduated from college, they lived for a short time in California and Montgomery, AL, before settling in Huntsville, AL, where they raised their 3 children, Alan, Susan & Barry. In 1975, Martha received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She worked as a Registered Nurse for many years. She received her master's degree from the UAH School of Nursing in 1984. Martha worked in the Huntsville area as a nurse practitioner until her retirement in 1999. After 37 years in Huntsville, Martha & Bill retired to Panama City, Florida.

Martha was an avid reader, seamstress, knitter, and jewelry maker. Her hand-made items were beautiful and she generously gave them to family members and friends.

Martha is survived by her husband of 59 years, William J. Dolbeer; her three children Alan (Kathy) Dolbeer, Susan (Chuck) Lynch and Barry (Christi) Dolbeer; 9 much loved grandchildren; 6 adored great grandchildren; her two brothers Jim (Mazie) Ostervold and Bernie (Judy) Ostervold and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held in Panama City at Wilson Funeral Home from 2 to 4 pm, on Saturday, November 26, 2016.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
