In Loving Memory of Marlene Giddens Strickland
Marlene Giddens Strickland was born on November 29, 1954, to Irene Grimes Taylor and Lovett Troy Giddens. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Marlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Allen Strickland Sr.; her son, Richard Allen Strickland Jr.; her mother, Irene Taylor; and her sisters, Fanny Helen Hensley and Mary Knight.
She leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory, including her brother Charles Giddens, Johnny Giddens and wife Joanne Giddens, daughter Teri Henry and husband Robert Henry, daughter Evelyn Irene Griffin and husband Shon Griffin; and son, James David Strickland. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Caitlyn Hogan and Andrew Hogan, her great-grandchildren, Chloe and Kayden and lots of nieces and nephews.
Marlene’s memory will live on through her family and the many lives she touched. Though she is no longer with us, the love she gave and the memories she created will remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 12, 2026 at 3 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Bayou George Cemetery.
Rest peacefully, Marlene. You will be loved and remembered always.
