MARK FREDERICK ALLEY
Mark Frederick Alley, 53, of Panama City Beach, FL, died Monday December 3, 2007 at Bay Medical center.
The remains were cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
A native of Tampa, Fl., Mr. Alley was a retired College Professor. Following his retirement he enjoyed spending time at the beach and on his boat.
Mr. Alley attended University of Denver where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, and received his Bachelor of Science Degree and a Masters of Science in Sociology from Auburn University and attended Vanderbilt University, where he later taught Sociology. Mr. Alley was past president of Thronateeska Heritage Foundation and a past board member of Girl Scouts of America. He was a member of Auburn University Alumni Association and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Albany, GA. Mr. Alley was an avid big game hunter and once held the world record for the largest elk ever harvested. He loved reading, watching movies, and loved to cook for his family.
Survivors include his 3 daughters Heather Truesdale and her husband David of Marietta, GA, Jessica Flynn and her husband Raul of Tampa, FL, Olivia Alley of Panama City Beach, FL and Leesburg, GA, 2 brothers, Granville Mason Alley, III of Conyers, GA, C. Todd Alley of Tampa, FL, sisters, Martee Craparo and Lisa Fields both of Tampa, Fl, 1 granddaughter Ava Truesdale of Marietta, GA and 2 step grandchildren Andrea and Elena Flynn of Tampa, Fl, 13 nieces and nephews.
Mr. Alley is also survived by his loving companion Tammy Maxwell and her children Ashley and Matthew, grandchildren Emma and Matthew Jr and loyal friend Brian Collins.
Mr. Alley was preceded in death by his father Granville Mason Alley, Jr. and his mother Martha Joyce Alley.
