Marion Patrick Adams, known to family and friends as Pat, a life-long resident of Bay County and St. Andrews passed away on February 24, 2026. He was born to Joseph and Ann Adams on December 13, 1947. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his two sons, Yates Adams - oldest, Albert “Elmo” Adams – youngest. Yates married to Nicki Adams with three kids, Pat’s three grandchildren, twin girls Marion Adams (named after Pat) and Shealy Adams (12 years old), and grandson Hutchison “Hutch” Adams (9 years old). He attended St. Andrews Elementary, Jinks Middle School, and Bay High School, graduating in 1965. Pat graduated from University of West Florida in 1969 and began his career as an educator at Rosenwald School, where he taught Science for fourteen years. Pat also taught at Rutherford, Everett, Bay High, finally settling in at Mowat where he worked with students for twenty of his thirty-six years career with Bay District Schools. Pat believed in hands on learning for science and history and conducted numerous camps, field trips (some to Shell Island), and archeology digs to share his passion for knowledge with his students. He loved sports and athletics just as much, he coached football, soccer, baseball, and volleyball! Pat had 29 winning seasons out of his 30 years of coaching! He liked to jokingly boast that his one losing season was his very first year, when he was still figuring everything out. Pat was and a unique composition of qualities, incredibly intelligent, kind, generous, and forever joking and teasing. He made an impression on everyone that knew him. He was the best father and grandfather. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm at Wilson Funeral Home on Sunday, March 1, 2026, visitation will be held from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gulf Coast State College Youth Programs in memory of Pat Adams.
