Marie Smith, 91, of Bayou George, Fl, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2018 in Montgomery, Alabama after a brief illness. She was born in Attica, New York, to Allen Glor and Martha (Schlenker) Glor. Marie was a graduate of Alexander Central School, Alexander, NY.
Marie was predeceased by her husband, Norman J. Smith, Jr., a brother, Leo Glor, granddaughter, Tricia Barfield Cecil and a son-in-law, Jimmy Barfield. Marie raised 6 children in Bethany NY: Carol Barfield, Panama City, FL, Linda Duke (William), Wetumpka, AL, Barbara Earle (David), Batavia, NY, Robert Smith (Kim), Warsaw, NY, Gerald Smith (Kathy), Youngstown, FL, and Kathleen Roush (Phil), Youngstown, FL. Marie was also the proud grandmother of 19 and great-grandmother of 32.
Marie is also survived by 4 sisters Violet Glor Colton, Grass Valley, California, Doris Glor Besok, Santee, South Carolina, Elma Glor Smith, LeRoy, New York, and Arlene Glor Teal, Angola, New York.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Bayou George Cemetery on Cemetery Road, Panama City , FL, with Rev. Jay Powell officiating The family requests that in lieu of flowers, all memorials be made to the Bayou George Baptist Church, 6227 Hwy 2301, Panama City, FL 32404 in memory of Marie Smith.
