Marie Fluharty, 98, of Panama City, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015. She was born in 1917 in Ocean City, New Jersey. She was a member of the Lynn Haven United Methodist Church. Marie was a loving mother and grandmother to all of her children and grandchildren. She lived her life with Christian love and she lived each day trusting in Jesus to help her through the trials and joys of life. She supported her church family with her service and her gifts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Fluharty; two brothers, Walter, Russell; and three sisters, Louise, Gertrude and Josephine. She is survived by her three children, Jean Smith (Lester), Michael Fluharty (Young), Anne Mahowald (Michael); six grandchildren, Tracy Yalich (Timothy), Ruth Sawyer (Darryl), Mark Mahowald (Marcy), Eric Smith, Sarah Fluharty, Esther Fluharty; three great grandchildren, Tarin Yalich, Taylor Yalich, Tanner Yalich; one sister, Edith Toner; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 12 at the Lynn Haven United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Luther officiating. Interment will be held on Friday at the Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL.
