MARIAN AGNES McBRIDE SCOTT

Marian Agnes McBride Scott passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2008 in her home after a long and valiant battle with ovarian cancer. Born February 12, 1943 in Panama City, Marian spent her life in the Panama City and Lynn Haven area. Marian graduated from Bay High School in 1961. She married her high school sweetheart Charles Angus Scott the day after the graduation ceremony, and they recently shared their 47th wedding anniversary. Marian worked as an alterationist for Smiths, Fashion Corner, Cogburns, Gayfers, and most recently, worked in the lingerie department at Dillards. Known for her loving nature, a love for working in her beautiful garden, and her excellent sewing and quilting, Marian spread smiles wherever she went and could easily brighten any room just by walking into it. She is preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Katie Lee McBride, and two brothers, Donald E. McBride and Woodrow (Tony) McBride Jr. She is survived by her beloved husband, Charles Angus Scott, sister, Evelyn Knight and her husband Michael Knight, brother, Phillip McBride and friend Suzanne, sister-in-law, Betty McBride and her daughter Regina and husband, Andrew, children, Teresa "Terry" Vickmark, Charles "JR" Scott Jr and his wife Tomoko Scott, and Thomas Scott and his fiancé Carol Folterman, grandchildren, Katie and Jessica Vickmark and Joshua Scott, nephews, Michael Knight and his son Kurtis, Jason Knight and his wife Betty and their children Dylan and Kaitlyn, and cousins, Linda Hill, Charlotte Philips and husband Russell. She also survives in the memories of close friends, Jean Gamble, D.D. Clark, Carolyn Abbott, and Vickie Sellers. Memorialization will be by cremation. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 21, 2008 in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Luther officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Covenant Hospice, 107 W 19th Street, Panama City, FL 32405 or the American Cancer Society, 2012-A Lisenby Avenue, Panama City, FL 32405 in remembrance of Marian Scott.
