MARGARET HOLLEY WARREN

Margaret Holley Warren, 86, of Panama City, passed away, Tuesday, April 26, 2011. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 2, at Wilson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Warren was born November 1, 1924 to Ina Mae & John M. Holley in York, Alabama but grew up in Andalusia, Alabama. Towards the end of WWII she moved from Andalusia to work at the ship building facility in Panama City. During that time she met her future husband, James A. Warren, a jeweler and watchmaker. After their marriage, they owned and operated a local jewelry store located next to the Martin Theater, first under the name of The Jewel Box and then under Warren's Jewelry. Besides owning and operating a successful business, they also raised two daughters.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Warren, her parents and 7 of her 8 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Saewitz of Miami and Emma Palecki (Mike Palecki) of Tallahassee, three granddaughters, Mercedes Saewitz of Miami, Megan Newsome-Rogers of Tallahassee and Brooke Saewitz of Miami. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces and her twin sister, Martha Pierce of Southport who was her constant companion throughout her life. Margaret will be missed by her family and friends, especially her close friends Ann and Roy Clark of Southport. Mrs. Warren was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations sent in memory of Margaret H. Warren to: Lisenby Retirement Center, 1400 W. 11th St., Panama City, FL 32401, who took such loving care of her during the last months of her life. Lisenby was once a hospital and was where Mrs. Warren gave birth to her two daughters, Barbara and Emma.
