Margaret Vickers Jencks, 90, of Panama City, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018. She was lovingly referred to as Memar. She was born August 14, 1928 in Panama City, Florida to Joseph Manning Vickers and Ila Mae Scott Vickers. She attended Bay High School and Florida State University. She was a long standing member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha who are strong supporters of St. Jude's Children's Hospital. After retiring from Civil Service at the Navy Base, she and Guy owned and operated Guy Jencks Contractors and built many beautiful homes in the area. She was a member of Lynn Haven United Methodist Church. She instilled her love of nature and all of God's creations in her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 69 years, Guy Jencks, and eight of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by three children, Douglas Jencks, Marsha Watkins (Jerry); Lisa Whitlock (David); three grandchildren, Justin Jencks, Christopher Whitlock (Anne Marie), Courtney Whitlock (Tim); three great grandchildren, Grace Whitlock, Hannah Whitlock, Maggie Whitlock; one brother, John Vickers (Dot); one sister, Shirley Snead; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 3 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Private interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service. Those desiring may make memorial donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in memory of Margaret Jencks.
