MARGARET ANDERSON DUNCAN
Margaret Anderson Duncan, born September 14, 1923 in Bay County, FL to George Washington and Palestine Monk Anderson, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, February 2, 2014. A long time and faithful member of Wallace Memorial/First Presbyterian Church, Margaret along with her husband, J.T., taught Sunday School for children and adults and led youth groups. Margaret was involved in the Women in the Church. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker along with being co-owner of Freeman Electric Company. Margaret was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, J.T. Duncan Jr. and all of her siblings. She is survived by her six children; Tommy Duncan and wife Lois, Cathy Heckler and husband Dick, Nancy Jinks and husband Russell, Debbie Mathis and husband Mike, Michael Duncan and wife Pam and Steve Duncan and wife Monica; 16 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; her sisters-in-law, Evelyn Duncan, Ada Duncan, Vera Anderson Gurda; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her good friend Margaret Dent and her loving caregivers. Special thanks to the staff at Mathison Retirement Center and Covenant Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock at the First Presbyterian Church of Panama City, 100 E 7th Street, Panama City, Fl with Dr. Richard Watson officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 - 11 a.m. on Wednesday prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at the Parker Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Those desiring may make a contribution to the Methodist Homes Fountain of Love, 1520 Cooper Hill Road, Birmingham, AL 35210 in memory of Margaret A. Duncan. The family will be at the home of Tommy & Lois Duncan.
