Marcus "Marc" Gunter Nolen, 51 of Panama City Beach, passed away peacefully on Sunday after a courageous battle with cancer. Blessed to be at his bed side in his final hours were his best friend and business partner Clair Pease, Tyna Nolen, Kim Nolen, Ashley Minter, lifelong friends Steve & Amy Wilson, Philip Wilson, Loren Smith, Bill & Virginia Thomas, Paul Vecker, Ricky & Kim Ramey, Woody Junot, Heather Woodby, Rhonda King, Stephanie Phillips and Bobby Pierce.
Marc was born in Panama City in 1964 and grew up in the St. Andrews area of Bay County. He graduated from Bay High School in 1982. Marc proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He also served Bay County as a County Commissioner from 1996-2000. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Panama City. Marc was a former co-owner and operator of the Pompano's and Mako's restaurants on Panama City Beach. Marc was instrumental in the development of the Grand Panama Beach Resort on Panama City Beach. He was currently working as a real estate agent for Life's a Beach Realty. He was preceded in death by his father, David T. Nolen and his mother Winnie Gunter Nolen. Marc is survived by his family, wife, Tyna Nolen, sister, Kim Nolen, nieces Ashley Minter and Izzie Pons, nephews Tiller and Tanner Pons, sister in law Heather Woodby, parents in law, Linda Smith & Jim Rector, Tom & Mildred Woodby, uncle, Mike Wilsdorf (Debbie), aunts Jean Gunter, Mary LeClair, cousins, Ricky Strickland (Kathy), Rhonda King, Pat Nolen, Susie Green, Leisa Gunter, Julie & Anna Jortikka, Michael & Chris Wilsdorf, Allen & Jennifer King (Trinity, MacKenzie, Courtney), Natalie Strickland, Trevor & Christine Strickland. Marc also leaves to cherish fond memories his best friend and care giver, Clair Pease and his beloved Grand Panama Beach Resort Family and His Life's A Beach Real Estate Family.
A celebration of Marc's life will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Panama City. The family will receive friends at the church from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service.
