Obituary

Marcia Jan Savejs passed peacefully from this world Sunday, February 18th at age 70 to reunite with her family and friends already in the company of the Lord. A courageous woman of unshakeable faith, she fought her cancer with everything she had until she was called home. Marcia was born May 21st, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois to loving parents Ella 'Fran' Frances Ward and Carlyle William Dixon. She lived a life full of love and happiness as an active member of her community. She was a proud member of the Captain Anderson's team for more than 30 years of her career. For over 20 years she raised money and participated in the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, not only for her mother and aunt but as a 34 year survivor herself. Marcia loved watching the sunsets, especially with the love of her life, Al. They enjoyed gardening, sitting out by the pool, spending time with their many friends and family and collecting crystals, but more than anything they enjoyed spending time together with their cats Leo and Lily. Marcia is eagerly greeted in Heaven by her mother Fran, father Carlyle, brother Ward and many others. Her memory is left to be cherished by her husband Alfred, daughter Melissa, grandchildren Sarah, Michael (Megan) and Daniel, great-grandchildren Isabella and Gabriel, sisters Brenda Branch and Virginia Dixon and numerous nieces and nephews. Please join us in a celebration of life on Sunday, February 25th at 2:00 PM at Wilson's Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial donations to the American Cancer Society in memory of Marcia Savejs.
