Beloved father and grandfather 80, passed from this life into his Heavenly Fathers' arms on Monday afternoon, May 20, 2013, unexpectedly.
Buddy was born in Marianna, Florida on November 7, 1932 to Johnnie Mancle and Telethia Elberta Rehberg. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Joanne Golden Rehberg, his parents, and one brother James Barkley Rehberg. He is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Rehberg Champion and husband David of Panama City, FL; Nancy Jo Clements and husband Webb of Port St. Joe, FL. Four grandchildren; Meredith Champion Thompson and husband Steven of Charlottesville, VA, Matthew Rehberg Champion of Panama City, FL. Laura Leigh Clements of Fort Walton Beach, FL and Carley Ann Clements of Port St. Joe, FL, his brother Leroy Cecil Rehberg and wife Clarice of Lynn Haven, FL, and many nieces, nephews, and other family.
He served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged. Buddy owned and operated Cove Barber Shop and enjoyed cutting hair, making cast nets and conversations with friends during his 25 years of working as a barber. He retired as a rural letter carrier from the U.S. Postal Service in 1998. Living by example, he loved God with all his heart. He was a devoted member of Immanuel Baptist Church for over 55 years where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and anywhere else he was needed. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading, quilting, and sharing his bountiful garden vegetables with family, neighbors and friends.
We rejoice knowing he's in heaven, in God's presence, and will forever cherish our fond memories of him. He will truly be missed.
