Mamie Eloise Godwin
(September 7, 1922 - August 29, 2011)
Mamie Eloise Godwin, 88, of Panama City, went to be with Jesus on Monday, August 29, 2011. She was born September 7, 1922 in Georgiana, Alabama to Herman and Mamie Dean. She was married to Jerry Paul Godwin for 62 years and had lived in Panama City for over 50 years. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church and loved her Sunday School class and "Young at Heart" group members dearly. She is survived by: (children) Larry Godwin of Los Angeles, CA, Paulette Gainey of Molino, FL, and Gail Cummings of Panama City—(grandchildren) Matthew Gainey and Rebekah Clemmons--(great-grandchildren) Alyssa Powell, Taylor Finney, and Connor Clemmons. Preceding her in death were her husband, Jerry "Paul" Godwin and her brother, Shelby Dean. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Northside Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5 – 7 p.m. Those desiring to make memorial donations please do so to the Baptist Christian Service Center, 123 Kraft Avenue, Panama City, FL 32401 or to Northside Baptist Church, 530 Airport Road, Panama City, FL 32405 in memory of Eloise Godwin.
