MAJOR BYRD HENRY HUDSON
Major Byrd Henry Hudson, 80, of Panama City Beach, died Wednesday, October 10, 2007 in his home. He was born December 26, 1926 in Bradenton, FL. He was a Major with the Salvation Army, retiring in 1987, after 40 years of service. He had been a resident of Panama City Beach for the past 7 months, moving here from West Palm Beach, FL. He was a Mason and Rotarian. He was preceded in death by a son, Edward Harold Hudson. He is survived by his wife, Major Ruth Hudson; 3 children, Connie Hudson, Capt. Henry Hudson and wife, Capt Debby Hudson; Steve Hudson and wife, Beki; 5 grandchildren, Heather Kite and husband, Tim; Jonathan Hudson, Jacob Hudson and wife, Katherine; Adam Hudson, Lance Radford, and a great grandson, Ashton Hudson. A celebration of life service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Salvation Army Citadel, Lynn Haven. A funeral service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. EST in the Abby Chapel, Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, GA with a graveside service at 2 p.m. EST. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. Thursday. In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made to the Salvation Army World Services "Missionary Efforts", 1824 W. 15th St., Panama City, FL 32401.
