MABLE FLEMING SMITH
Mable Fleming Smith, 84, of Panama City, went home to be with the Lord Friday, February 09, 2007 at a local hospital. She was born July 10, 1922 in Mobile, Alabama. Mable was a 1940 graduate of Bay High School. Mable was a retired business woman as vice president of purchasing for Panama Machinery and Supply. She was a member of Junior Service League, St. Andrew Bay Yacht Club and Petti Point Club. She was a Christian and active member of First Baptist Church of Panama City as well as a benefactress of various civic and philanthropic organizations. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Smith, parents, William Forrest and Bessie Mitchell Fleming, two brothers, Robert A. Fleming and Sam Calhoun Fleming, three sisters, Inez Dailey, Aleene Hutchison and Maggie Whitehurst. She is survived by her sister, Jo Ann Beumeler, and husband, Wayne Beumeler, of Panama City, sister-in-law, Carolyn Fleming, brother-in-law, Darrell Whitehurst and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Craig Conner officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church vestibule. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the First Baptist Church Building Fund in memory of Mable Smith.
