Mrs. Lynda Redmon Claspy entered heaven to be with her Lord August 1, 2025. She was born April 3, 1947, in Panama City, Florida to Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Redmon (Alma). Lynda attended public schools in Panama City and graduated from Rutherford High School, Gulf Coast Community College, Florida State University, and George Mason University in Virginia. At Florida State University, Lynda majored in Elementary Education. To further her studies, she earned a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership at George Mason University.
Lynda's distinguished education career of 50 years included teaching in Bay County, Florida, Early County, Georgia, and Prince William County, Virginia. Her career focus was in elementary education and teaching the fourth grade for many years. Outside of the classroom, Lynda shared her knowledge and love for teaching by serving as a Lead Program Manager for Online Learning with Beacon Educator. Lynda enjoyed coaching, writing, and developing professional high quality online courses for teachers which were research-based and reflected best practices in the teaching field. Teachers enjoyed the ability to connect with Lynda through Beacon Educator and earn in-service credit hours to meet teacher certification or recertification requirements. Additionally, with her very valuable experience and expertise in education, she served as an Adjunct Professor at George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia from December 1998 through December of 2005, and Adjunct Professor at Old Dominion University Norfolk, Virginia from 1996 through December 2004.
She is survived by her husband, Mr. John C. Claspy of Panama City, Florida and numerous nieces and nephews. Lynda was predeceased by her parents, sisters Mildred Clark, Norma Jeanne Fulford, Carol Stacey, and brothers Rev. Donald Redmon, and Larry Redmon.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at 10 a.m. in the Forest Lawn Cemetery.
