LYDIA SELETA SIMPSON
Mrs. Lydia Seleta Simpson, of Panama City, went home to be with the Lord on August 3, 2008. She was born in Egypt Center, Tennessee, on June 16, 1925, and a resident of Panama City for 63 years.
Seleta was a loving mother, and a devoted wife to her lifelong sweetheart and husband, Gerald, for 65 years. She will be remembered by many for her love, kindness, and faithfulness to her husband. Many seeds of love have been planted in the lives of others because of her tender touch. She delighted in caring for her flowers in her garden before she retired; she was the manager at Lawrence Rentals. She served as bookkeeper and manager of Simpson's Automotive Service.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald Simpson, 3 daughters, Beverly Dunaway, Sandra Dresser and husband Don and Roseanne Culpepper. 3 sisters, Peggy Castle, Patricia Weiss, Beverly Buelow. 6 grandchildren, Paige Strackman and husband Billy, Travis Dunaway and wife Nicole, Matt Dresser and wife Michelle, Stephanie Dresser, Tricia Culpepper and fiancée Terry Chatham, Tiffany Prior and husband Joe, and 8 great grandchildren, Chedera, Christopher, Conner, Kristin, Addie, William, Cannon, and Jack.
Active pallbearers are Don Dresser, Matt Dresser, Travis Dunaway, Chuck Buelow, Robert Weiss, and Cecil Dykes. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Prior and Terry Chatham.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hayes and Rev. Colravy officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
