Lurie E. Flowers, 92, of Panama City, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2011. He was born on November 28, 1918 in Crestview, FL. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as an insurance agent for Gulf Life from 1950 to 1981. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Mavis Flowers, daughter, Billie Faye Flowers Parvin, grandson, Keith Harrison and 3 sisters and 5 brothers. He is survived by his son, Chuck Flowers (Sandra); a daughter, Marcia Shams (Yousef); 9 grandchildren, Rickie Harrison (Joni), Lisa Raffanello (Ed), Brad McQuagge (Mary), Greg McQuagge (Becky), Marlow Hudson, Brian Flowers (Renee), Chris Flowers (Lacey), Nick Flowers, Jake Flowers; 2 brothers, Daniel Flowers, Eugene Flowers; 19 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. in the Northside Baptist Church. The family will receive friends in the Northside Baptist Church's Fellowship Hall from 12-2 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Chipola Cemetery, Altha, FL. Those desiring may make contributions to the Northside Baptist Church or the Calvary Baptist Church in memory of Lurie Flowers.
