The dawn of a new day in God's heavenly kingdom welcomed the soul of beauty and strength in the person of Lorraine Nelson Rowe, 91, December 18, surrounded by her loving family.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James (Jimmie) Marvin Rowe Jr., her daughter Marilyn Lois Rowe, her parents Sandy and Virginia Nelson of Homewood, Al, her brother Ronnie Nelson of El Paso, Texas.
Lorraine graduated from Woodlawn Highlands where she meant the love of her life Jimmie. Together they owned Alabama Plating Company in Vincent, Al. Their interest in antiques lead to them opening Roweling Acres Antiques in Vincent, AL. She was very active in her church Vincent First United Methodist Church and her community. In 1999 they relocated to Lynn Haven, FL to be closer to family. She was a church and choir member of Lynn Haven United Methodist Church. Some of her favorite memories where made by being a member of the church choir and the Davelyn's Darlings Red Hat Ladies.
She is survived by her son James Marvin Rowe III (Tina) and her daughter Deborah "Debbie" Rowe Pearson (David) of Panama City Beach and brother Jack Nelson (Helen) of Fairhope, Al, Grandchildren Kimberly Rowe Rudovsky (John), Lorri Rowe, Crystal Rowe Brown (Rick), all of Panama City Beach, FL, James (Jay) Marvin Rowe IV (Shelbi) of Fairhope, Al and Jennifer Pearson (Andre) of Quebec, Canada, Brandon Bryan and Jonathan Bryan .
Also cherishing the memories of their great grandmother are Sophia Shaffer, Addison Rudovsky, Caleb, Sam and Molly Rowe, Madison, Brianna, Ricky, Eli and Elizabeth Brown, Celeste and William Laniel.
Lorraine was known by many and loved by all who knew her and were blessed to have had her in their lives. The family especially appreciates the love and care given to her by her caregivers Linda Stewart, Margie Yurko, Sandra Yurko and Carol Faulk.
Viewing will be at Wilson Funeral Home on Monday, December 21 st at 10:00 followed by funeral service at 11:00. A graveside service will be held at the Rowe Family Cemetery on December 22 nd at 2 pm in Vincent, AL. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you donate to your favorite charity or to Vincent First United Methodist Church.
