Loraine Barrentine Mathews, 87, of Panama City, previously of Malone, Florida, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015. She was born on June 19, 1927 in Ozark, Alabama. She will be remembered for the abundance of love and warmth she so freely gave. She was a Christian and an inspiration for her unselfishness and generous heart and the lessons she taught all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a blessing and a beautiful example of how to live life. She loved her family so much and will be truly missed. Our mom loved us unconditionally, till her last breath. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Sullivan Mathews; and son, Johnny Ray Mathews. She is survived by her six children, Tony Lamar Mathews (Dot), Henry Allen Mathews (Debra), Anita M. Donalson (Mike), Desi M. Martin, Walter Paul Mathews, Stephen L. Mathews (Patricia); numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and two brothers, Eddie Barrentine (Linda), Lemuel Barrentine (Diane). The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 11 from 6 – 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 12 in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Beard and Rev. Virgil Tillman officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Collins Chapel Cemetery, Malone, Florida. Active pallbearers will be Walt Mathews, Angus Mathews, John Martin, Nathan Donalson, Eric Mathews, Drue Mathews and Chris Mathews.
