Lois Louise Ashburn Spiva, 85, of Panama City, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2014. She was born on January 18, 1929 in Holt, Florida. She was a retired owner of the Gospel Book and Gift Shop. She was a member of the Springfield Community Church and a very well-known gifter of the Holy Bible. She was a faithful participant with the Council on Aging. She was preceded in death by her husband, Brown V. Spiva, Sr.; son, Brown V. "Joe" Spiva, Jr; father, Garland L. Ashburn; mother, W. Mabel Ashburn; brother, G.C. Ashburn; sisters, Flora A. Cooksey, Vernie A. Johnson, Lyndall S. Ashburn, Martha A. Shoemaker. She is survived by her two grandchildren, Brown V. Spiva III (Belinda); Stephanie Spiva; and three great grandchildren, Brandon Cook, Keaton Spiva, Gage Wicks; one great great grandchild, Braylon Cook; and siblings, Ethel Lambrecht, Syble Daniels, Rev. William G. Ashburn, David C. Ashburn (Helen), Robert C. Ashburn (Sandy); and over 250 family members to include nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donny Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 – 11 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Council on Aging in memory of Lois Spiva.
