Linda Addison Mead, 70, of Panama City, Florida, passed away December 21, 2013 in a local hospital. She had been a resident of Panama City since 1980, moving here from Columbus, Georgia. She attended High Praise Worship Center. She was instrumental in helping her husband, Rev. Ray Mead, as he preached for numerous Assembly of God churches in Florida, Alabama, Georgia and the Bahamas. She was also a retired school teacher. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Ezra A. and Clyde Addison. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Rev. James Raphael "Ray" Mead Jr.; daughter, Alicia Shaver (Michael); two grandsons, Jonah Shaver and Camden Shaver; four siblings, Mildred Atkins (Dwayne), Rev. Leslie Milford Addison (Joyce), Mary Loyce France (Fred), and Janice Temples (Ron); and brother-in-law, Carl Mead (Jeanette); and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 26, 2013 in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Millville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m., one hour prior to service time.
