Lily Merle (Nanny) Harrington passed away September 2, 2018. She was surrounded by loved ones and went peacefully at the age of 100. Lily was born May 4, 1918. She married the love of her life, Cecil Harrington in 1936. Lily was a member and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist for more than 40 years here in Panama City, FL. Her Sunday school class was called the Harvesters. She was a devoted Christian, loved reading God's word, and prayed for others daily. Lily often asked why God let her live as long as she did and our response was always because someone was still in need of prayer. She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil, parents Guy and Bertha Ambrose, brothers Bob, Alton, and Alvin, sisters Leila (Sister), Annabelle, and Sally, and great granddaughter Brooke Holt. Lily is survived by son Charles Harrington and wife Martha, and daughter Carolyn Von Boeckman and husband Paul. Also, her grandchildren Cindy Holt (Bill), Charlene Birch (David), Jimmy Gwaltney (Carla), Charlie Harrington III (Rita), Cathy Robertson (Ted), and great grandchildren Natalie Danburg, Brian Early, Chad Early, Tonya Copeland, Kelly Harrington, Gabby Gwaltney, Coley Gwaltney and 12 great great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.
