LESSIE N. KRAFT
Lessie N. Kraft, age 90, passed away Thursday November 30th at Hospice Atlanta. Mrs. Kraft was a long time resident of Bay County, Florida, most recently in Mexico Beach and then at Mathison Retirement Center in Panama City. She was preceded in death by her husband Lt. Commander John D. Kraft (Ret) and by her daughter Jo Ann Polhemus. She is survived by her two sons Dallas A. Hurston and wife Claudette of Atlanta and Marcus D. Hurston and wife Troy of Largo, Florida, a brother Henry Miller of Balsam, N.C. She leaves seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, many cousins, nephews and nieces.
Mrs. Kraft was the ninth of twelve children born to Charles and Ola Miller of Marianna, Florida. She grew up on a farm outside of Marianna and spent a part of her early childhood at the family homestead in Walton County just west of Camp Creek. She was proud of her family roots and liked to talk about the many large family reunions to which she belonged-the Miller, the Watford and the Williams.
Mrs. Kraft had many cherished friends in Mexico Beach and Panama City including many snowbirds she met through her Church, the First United Methodist Church of Mexico Beach.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 2nd at 11:00 am in the chapel of Wilson Funeral Home in Panama City, Florida with the Rev. Ted Lovelace officiating. Entombment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
The Family will receive friends between 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday at the Wilson Chapel.
