LEON BEATY SPIRES
Leon Beaty Spires, 58, of Panama City, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2009. He was born May 10, 1950 in Panama City. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City and was a former member of the Jaycee's. He had worked at the St. Andrew Bay Center and Target. He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Braxton Spires. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Spires, of Panama City, brother, Paul Spires and wife Judy, of Panama City Beach, sister, Diane Luckenbach and husband Don, of Atlanta, GA, niece, Olivia Diane Luedecke and husband Jeff, of Winder, GA, and grand niece, Hailey Elizabeth Luedecke. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Ellison and Rev. Chris Love officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5 – 7 p.m. Those desiring may make memorial donations to St. Andrew Bay Center, Covenant Hospice, or the Building Fund at First Baptist Church of Panama City in memory of Leon Spires.
