LENNIE KILLINGSWORTH WILSON
Lennie Killingsworth Wilson, 98, of Panama City, Florida passed away November 16, 2010. She was born July 28, 1912 in Columbia, Alabama to Bishop Pierce and Emma Annie Davis Killingsworth. She graduated from Houston County High School in Columbia, Alabama in 1930 and attended nursing training in New Orleans. She had been a resident of Panama City since 1931. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Panama City, where she was a member of the Joyful Servants Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Panama City Woman's Club and the As You Like It Luncheon Club. She was one of the first beauticians in Bay County and she operated a beauty shop out of her home for years. She also worked with her husband Wilbur "Buck" Wilson at Wilson Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Preston Wilson, her sisters, Alice Benson, Kizzie Cummins and Miriam Langford and her brother, Buddy Killingsworth. She is survived by son, Steve Wilson and wife Sandra, two daughters, Shirley W. Winter and Jennifer Cappleman and husband Bill, all of Panama City, Florida, "Too Mommy" to her six grandsons, Clyde Winter III and wife Sarah of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Eric Winter and wife Jody, Darryl Winter and wife, Vivian, all of Atlanta, Georgia, Steve Wilson III and wife Amy of Panama City, Andy Robinson of Gainesville, Florida and Philip Wilson of Panama City, her only granddaughter, Kim Wilson Houser and husband Tony, of Panama City, four great grandchildren, Matthew Winter, Kristen Winter, both of Spartanburg, South Carolina, John Stephen Wilson IV and Laura Beth Wilson, both of Panama City, step-grandchildren, Georgia Cappleman, Ashley Cappleman and Shelly Bostick and step great-grandchild, Henry Allen Richardson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Craig Conner and Rev. Clyde Ellison officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be her six grandsons. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. The family wishes to thank her caregivers, Johnnie Williams and Shari Steele.
