LENDIL C. OBERT

Lendil C. Obert passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Panama City Nursing Center. She was predeceased by her husband Ernest R Obert. Lendil was born on November 14, 1914 in Graceville, Florida, daughter of the late Robert Preston Cain and Alma V. Cain. She was the beloved Mother of Gail S. Jackson and husband Michael Jackson, and R. Michael Obert and wife Debbie Obert, grandchildren Deborah Hankinson, Wayne B. Sargent and Victoria (Tori) Obert and great-grandchildren Bryan Hankinson, Tyler Sargent and Landon Sargent.
Lendil had been a resident of Panama City since 1941; moving several times but always returning. She was a Floral Designer for Wayside Nurseries for many years and later taught at Panama City Christian School. But her most important role was that of a loving wife and devoted Mother. She was a passionate gardener and loved to go fishing with husband Ernie.
She was a dedicated member of Central Baptist Church, and rarely missed a service by Rev. John Barton. She had been the oldest member of the church for the past several years.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff on Hall 2 at Panama City Nursing Center. We especially wish to thank Diana Linn, Paula Morris, Cheryl Franklin, Cheryl Williams, John Blackie, Anne Thicklin and Belinda Martin for their sincere compassion and dedication to the residents.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside service at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Panama City Nursing Center, Attn: Activities Dept., 924 West 13th St, Panama City, Florida 32401 in memory of Lendil Obert.
